Obiliq, 12 September 2017

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has promised residents of the villages Hade and Shipitullë and the municipal bodies of Obiliq very quick solution to the problem they are facing for a long time.

Prime Minister Haradinaj urged residents to draft a list of priority employment requirements and other issues related to their relocation.

He has invited KEK management, trade union and residents of Shipitullë, in the evening hours, respectively at 20:00 for a joint meeting to discuss the resolution of this issue. "The reason we are doing so is because there was abuse with time lines. If there were ordinary procedures it would be pointless to ask one another for such a procedure, but since it has been abused for so long, then we need to take direct measures to find a solution, "said Prime Minister Haradinaj , stressing that there will be no compromise with anyone in resolving this situation.

During his stay in KEK, Prime Minister Haradinaj was briefed by the management on the challenges and objectives of KEK in general, with particular emphasis on recent developments regarding the relocation of villagers in Hade and Shipitullë. "Energy is a vital interest of every country, but the situation in KEK is also wrong. When I say this, I'm not just talking about management, but the one-year-old Shipitull case shows something is getting stuck. We have to find out what are the stagnation, where is the mistake, where there is a lack, but we cannot go on limitlessly on these topics, "he said.

The Prime Minister promised to convey at every turn the work being done in this corporation, which is the main electricity generator in the Republic of Kosovo.

After the visit to KEK, Prime Minister Haradinaj visited the Municipality of Obiliq and was received by the Mayor Xhafer Gashi with associates, and met with the inhabitants of the villages Hade and Shipitullë, in the premises of the Municipal Assembly of this municipality.

The Mayor of Obiliq Xhafer Gashi, expressed his confidence in the implementation of the Law on Obiliq in order to restore the dignity of the citizens of this municipality.

Prime Minister Haradinaj, during the conversation with the residents of these villages, said that all those who have tasks and do not do them will be accountable.

"There is no one who can stand who does not do the things that he or she is in charge of accomplishing. I do not say this only to be bold, but because the time has been spent for which we should work, "said Prime Minister Haradinaj, promising also the implementation of the law on the Municipality of Obiliq and the resolution of the problems faced by residents of this area.

In this visit with Prime Minister Haradinaj was Deputy Prime Minister Dalibor Jevtić, Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Lluka and Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Albena Reshitaj.
