Prime Minister Haradinaj: Kosovo committed to strengthening economic partnership with Greece

“In addition to the political position, Greece has always had a constructive role towards Kosovo and we are willing to strengthen this economic partnership in the future for the benefit of both countries, “said Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj after hosting a delegation from Greece’s Foreign Ministry, headed by the Greek Foreign Ministry’s Director-General for International Economic Relations and Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Ioannis Brachos.

At this meeting, it was discussed the good relations between Kosovo and Greece and possibilities of enhancing cooperation and trade exchanges between the two countries.

Prime Minister Haradinaj thanked Secretary Brachos for the support of Greece in the process of Kosovo’s membership in international organizations as well as in the integration processes in the European Union, stressing that this support should continue in the current stages of Kosovo’s international consolidation.

Also, Prime Minister Haradinaj briefed on the current developments in Kosovo, on the reforms that the Kosovo Government is undertaking in many areas, ranging from economic development, opening of new jobs, strengthening of the rule of law, European integration processes of Kosovo , as well as reforms in many areas of life.

“The Kosovo Government is committed and is working intensively on improving the business climate, drafting legislation that facilitates the conditions for potential investors, creating free economic zones throughout the country and implementing appropriate laws for direct foreign investments, “said Prime Minister Haradinaj, stressing the need that Greece implement tariff facilities for Kosovar businesses.

Prime Minister Haradinaj welcomed the idea of organizing a joint economic forum between the two countries in order to advance economic relations.

Secretary General for International Economic Relations for Development and Cooperation at the Greek Foreign Ministry, Ioannis Brachos, thanked Prime Minister Haradinaj for the reception, pointing out that Greece continues to be a supporter of all Kosovo’s processes and expressing readiness for deepening economic co-operation between the two countries.
