Prime Minister Haradinaj hosted in a meeting representatives of the shelter for victims of domestic violence

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, received in a meeting the representative of the child shelter, victims of violence in Prishtina, Valbona Qitaku, the Director of the “Liria” Shelter in Gjilan, Nazife Jonuzi, and Teuta Abrashi, the representative of an Organization which fights against trafficking with human beings.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, received in a meeting the representative of the child shelter, victims of violence in Prishtina, Valbona Qitaku, the Director of the “Liria” Shelter in Gjilan, Nazife Jonuzi, and Teuta Abrashi, the representative of an Organization which fights against trafficking with human beings.

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which is marked on 25 November, the leaders of these centers informed the Prime Minister about their activities in protecting the life and health of victims of violence and the difficulties they face in these shelter centers.

Marking of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women calls for global action to raise awareness around the world for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Haradinaj expressed his gratitude for the work they do, emphasizing that institutional care for all shelters in Kosovo should be increased.
At this meeting, it was highlighted that the police annuallyreportsaround 1300 people in Kosovo being victims of various forms of violence.
