Hungary estimates that Kosovo has fulfilled all obligations for visa liberalization

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, received today in an introductory meeting the new Ambassador of Hungary to Kosovo, Mr. József Bencze, with whom he talked about bilateral relations and opportunities for deepening mutual cooperation, especially in economics and education.

Welcoming Ambassador Bencze, Prime Minister Hoti expressed the gratitude of the Government and the citizens of Kosovo for the permanent support that Hungary has given and is giving to our country.

Prime Minister Hoti informed Ambassador Bencze about the priorities of the Government of Kosovo, the prevention and management of the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic recovery package and the strengthening of the rule of law.

Also, Prime Minister Hoti spoke about the dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, which should end with mutual recognition.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Bencze reaffirmed Hungary’s support for Kosovo, offering a loan of 62 million euros, which is expected to be ratified by the Assembly of Kosovo.

Also, in this meeting, it was discussed about the organization of the meeting of the Economic Council Kosovo – Hungary, as well as the exchange of mutual visits at a high level and the signing of the Protocol for cooperation in the field of education.

When it comes to education, it should be noted that Hungary has awarded 75 university scholarships to students from Kosovo.

“Hungary considers that Kosovo has fulfilled all obligations for visa liberalization,” said Ambassador József Bencze, who assured Prime Minister Hoti that Hungary will continue to further support the European integration agenda of the Republic of Kosovo.
