The incumbent Prime Minister Haradinaj: I am proud to say that our Army today is an added value for the security in the region and in the world, aiming to become a NATO member

Prishtina, 27 November 2019

“To live at peace with ourselves and with our neighbors means that our traditional values and the sacred war of the Kosovo Liberation Army, led by the legendary Commander Adem Jashari, are integral values of freedom, but also values that are aligned with the Western values”, said the incumbent Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, at the ceremony marking the November 27th, the “Force Day”, held in the KSF “Adem Jashari” barracks.

Before numerous attendees, the incumbent Prime Minister Haradinaj said that the first birthday as a regular Army is the honor of this people and this homeland.

On this occasion, the incumbent Prime Minister Haradinaj expressed his deep gratitude to the United States of America and European allies, saying that thanks to our freedom-loving spirit and support of the democratic world, in conformity with the universal ideals of freedom, today we are free ourselves and we live in peace with others.

This ceremony was also attended by the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, KSF Commander, Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama, the family relatives of the legendary Commander, Adem Jashari, and other distinguished representatives of local and international institutions.

The full speech of the incumbent Prime Minister Haradinaj at the ceremony of marking the ‘Force Day’:

Dear President of the Republic of Kosovo, Your Excellency, Mr. Hashim Thaçi,

Dear Deputy Prime Minister Hoxhaj,

Dear Minister of Defense, Rrustem Berisha,

Dear Kosovo Security Force Commander, General Rama,

Distinguished superior officers, and other KSF officers, soldiers and all you present,

I appreciate the presence of the diplomatic chorus, military attachés, martyrs’ families,

Dear Bekim Jashari.

The first birthday, as a regular Amy, is the honor of this people and this homeland. Same day as today, a year ago, we had adopted three laws for our Army, I had stated then that we are coming to peace, and indeed we, for the first time in our history, are capable of guaranteeing peace in the country and the region, capable of fulfilling our constitutional duties in protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Geopolitical ranks are changing and we must be able to respond to challenges, such as spreading of Russia’s influence in the Western Balkans through hybrid threats. But, the values of freedom and territorial integrity are fundamental to us and remain non-negotiable against any danger.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to the United States of America and European allies, because thanks to our freedom-loving spirit and support of the democratic world, in conformity with the universal ideals of freedom, today we are free ourselves and we live in peace with others.

Therefore, Kosovo ranks to the world led by America and in this ranking we are and we shall remain.

To live at peace with ourselves and with our neighbors means that our traditional values and the sacred war of the Kosovo Liberation Army, led by the legendary Commander Adem Jashari, are integral values of freedom, but also values that are aligned with the Western values.

Yesterday, the Kosovo Army, by the decision of the Institutions of the country, deployed to Albania pursuant to the Law on Overseas Deployment of the Kosovo Security Force in search and rescue operations, as proof that we are valuable for the country, for our compatriots, but also for the whole region in case of any emergencies of any nature.

I am very proud today, when our Army is an added value for the security in the region and in the world, aiming to become a NATO member, with Kosovo in its ranks, as a developed structure, ready to protect freedom, democracy and human dignity.

I am also happy that our alignment to peace, to which are serving the citizens of the country, namely soldiers, officers and NCOs of all communities, today not only honors Kosovo, but also honors the allies of freedom.

Happy anniversary, Army!

Congratulation for your development, Kosovo!

Thank you!
