The Government of the Republic of Kosovo, chaired by Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Government, held its online meeting, the 11th in a row, in which it reviewed and adopted the decision to take new measures, in order to prevent the spread and to control the COVID-19 infection in the four northern municipalities of Kosovo.
In order to prevent the spread and to control the COVID-19 pandemics, the Government has adopted the request of the Ministry of Health that starting from 8 July 2020, from 21:00 to 05:00 to prohibit any movement of natural persons outside their houses / apartments in the municipalities of North Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposavic and Zvecan.
Urgent health cases will be excluded from this prohibition; cases of need for care for the sick, for persons with special needs, in cases when the sick or persons with special needs are not able to take care of themselves; cases of seeking assistance from relevant institutions, such as the case of victims of domestic violence; cases of death of a family member; and cases of pet care needs, but not more than 500 meters from the apartment/house. The use of these cases in no case is permitted to perform any other activity or for any purpose other than that specified.
The decision adopted today by the government cabinet prohibits the entry – exit for 24 hours of infected persons, contact persons and suspects in the municipalities of North Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zvecan and Zubin Potok within 14 days from the date of entry into force of this decision, except in exceptional cases mentioned above.
This decision was proposed by the Minister of Health at the request of the mayors of these municipalities, who lead the local headquarters in the Municipality of North Mitrovica, the Municipality of Zubin Potok, the Municipality of Leposavic and the Municipality of Zvecan. The decision is also based on the analysis of the epidemiological situation by professionals of the matter at the National Institute of Public Health, in order to prevent the spread and to control the COVID. -19, as there is an increase in the number of citizens who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the respective municipalities.
